Cheshire is probably England's most affluent county and The Honey Bee in Wilmslow is surrounded by 'timbered' National Trust properties, while two of ancient Chester's most desirable hamlets are home to our Cheshire Cat and Red Lion. And there can be no more dramatic a location than The Hartshead on the Pike with the same name.

Discover a Vintage Inn in Cheshire and Staffordshire

Into Staffordshire and a trip to The Three Crowns, Stone, is best done by narrowboat along the scenic Trent & Mersey Canal, while The Wolseley Arms just outside Stafford is flanked by the Area of Outstanding Beauty that is Cannock Chase. Plus, The Talbot at Biddulph offers rugged moorlands charm.

Wherever you wander, they have period features, log burning fires and some even cosy accommodation. They serve traditional British favourites, blackboard specials and Sunday roasts, while the ales are real cask conditioned and the wines from around the world.
