About The Beagle

Traditional Hospitality at The Beagle

Of all the pubs in Ipswich, The Beagle is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Eastern Rivers. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The building dates back to the 18th century when Sproughton was a small hamlet, most of the few inhabitants making their living from the land. Although for most of its long history the building was divided into a number of farm cottages, rumour has it that may have actually started life as an inn.

Around The Area

A destination in its own right, The Beagle is a country pub full of character, with lovely paddocked gardens. The building is 18th century and for most of its long history it was divided into farm cottages.
