About The Bracken Fox
Traditional Hospitality at The Bracken Fox
Of all the pubs in Scarcroft, The Bracken Fox is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Harrogate, York and Leeds. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
Dating back to 1852, the Bracken Fox was originally known as the New Inn and was owned by a twenty six year old farmer and innkeeper named William Wrigglesworth. The present building is a 1930's roadhouse which was built adjacent to the site of the older New Inn this more modern building had its own brew house which served the pub until a few years ago.

Around The Area
Being close to Hetchell Crags, our rather grand looking pub is a popular stop off with walkers and climbers. And the pub's large gardens go down well for those who love fresh air.
