The Colney Fox is well known in St. Albans and across Hertfordshire as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, we are situated in London Colney, reputedly the second biggest village in the country. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a great selection of real ales and a diverse wine menu for you to choose from.
A Little Pub History
The Colney Fox has been around a while and although there are no records pre dating the 1940's, it is thought that it was originally used as a boy's school. In the 1940's and 1950's it was called The Watersplash Hotel, a venue complete with, restaurant and swimming pool. Now restored and renamed, The Colney Fox is still full of heritage and tradition.

Our 13 bedroom Innkeeper's Lodge continues The Colney Fox's tradition of welcoming travellers. It's our local charm that attracts nature enthusiasts and ramblers, as well as diners and drinkers from St. Albans and nearby Potters Bar, Shenley and Radlett. We also welcome business and leisure travellers to enjoy some of the best bedrooms and accommodation in St. Albans.

Our standard opening times are below but we may open earlier on certain days depending on local demand so please do call us to check if you would like to visit us before midday.
Monday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm.
Sundays 12pm to 10.30pm.
Food served all day
Monday to Saturday all day to 10pm.
Sunday all day to 9.30pm.
