The Commodore is well known in Helensburgh and across Argyll & Bute as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, we are at the southern end of Gare Loch. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a great selection of real ales and a diverse wine menu for you to choose from.
A Little Pub History
The Commodore is close to a host of interesting attractions The Hill House in Helensburgh. is Charles Rennie Mackintosh's finest domestic creation. Dumbarton Castle is about a 10 minutes away with a recorded history as a stronghold, which is longer than any other fortification in Britain. Finally Loch Lomond Shores is equally near and is Scotland's most spectacular visitor destination combining a beautiful environment with a mixture of leisure and shopping experiences overlooking Loch Lomond.

Our 44 bedroom Innkeeper's Lodge continues The Commodore's tradition of welcoming travellers. It's our local charm that attracts local office staff and visitors, as well as diners and drinkers from Helensburgh and nearby Erskine, Dumbarton and Rhu. Open every day
Our standard opening times are below but we may open earlier on certain days depending on local demand so please do call us to check if you would like to visit us before midday.
Monday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm.
Sundays 12pm to 10.30pm.
Food served all day
Monday to Saturday all day to 10pm.
Sunday all day to 9.30pm.

There is no need to book, all are welcome, just come along and we will look after you and ensure an enjoyable visit.
