About The Crooked Chimney
Traditional Hospitality at The Crooked Chimney
Of all the pubs in Welwyn Garden, The Crooked Chimney is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Hertfordshire. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
Serving the Lemsford community for more than 200 years, the building was originally a farmhouse called Hornbeam Hall. Its use as an inn dates back to 1756 when it was called The Chequers. In 1777 Searanckes Brewery of Hatfield acquired the building which remained as The Chequers until 1968 when it was renamed The Crooked Chimney after its distinctive crooked brick chimney

Around The Area
Serving the local community for more than 250 years, our pub is near Stanborough Reedmarsh, a magnet for bird watchers. There's a nature trail that follows the River Lee and two scenic lakes.
