About The Curlew

Traditional Hospitality at The Curlew

Of all the pubs in Bournemouth, The Curlew is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Hardy Country and Coast. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The Curlew has had a varied and interesting history. The building was constructed in the 1800's and served as a farm mostly producing root vegetables. After gaining its license, the building became Mulligan's fish restaurant, then a themed pub and was more recently called The Manor before settling on being named after the wading bird - the Curlew.

Around The Area

In quiet countryside with an equestrian centre on the doorstep, The Curlew attracts walkers and wildlife enthusiasts, yet is close to Bournemouth Airport. Parley Common Nature Reserve is nearby and as is the New Forest.
