About The Dovecote
It is with regret that we announce The Dovecote has been badly damaged in a fire and is closed indefinitely. Please bear with us whilst we work hard to return your much loved country pub and restaurant back to its former glory. We hope to reopen as soon as possible.

A little pub history
The Dovecote began life as an ordinary farm cottage and parts of it date back to the 1650's. Once called the Coach and Horses, the inn was renamed the Smyth Arms in 1749 after the Smyth family who were the lords of the manor and principal landowners in the area.
Make a day of it
A footpath near our ancient pub (parts date to 1650) leads to the magnificent Ashton Court Estate. Vibrant Bristol nearby will spoil you for choice with first rate sights such as Brunel's SS Great Britain.
