About The Dovecote
Traditional Hospitality at The Dovecote
Of all the pubs in Bristol, The Dovecote is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Bristol and Bath. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
The Dovecote began life as an ordinary farm cottage and parts of it date back to the 1650's. Once called the Coach and Horses, the inn was renamed the Smyth Arms in 1749 after the Smyth family who were the lords of the manor and principal landowners in the area.

Around The Area
A footpath near our ancient pub (parts date to 1650) leads to the magnificent Ashton Court Estate. Vibrant Bristol nearby will spoil you for choice with first rate sights such as Brunel's SS Great Britain.
