About The Fish and Eels
Traditional Hospitality at The Fish and Eels
Of all the pubs in Hoddesdon, The Fish and Eels is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Hertfordshire. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
Dating back to the 1800's, The Fish And Eels was originally owned by the Christie family brewery who used it to sell Christy's Hoddesdon-brewed ales. We have always been popular as a riverside inn, with numerous landlords throughout the years - the most notorious being the Reverend Samuel Thackery who, after being dismissed from his chaplaincy, took to inn keeping instead.

Around The Area
Dating to the early 1800s, our lovely riverside inn is well placed for long country walks. Lea Valley Park is an extensive conservation area that offers many water sports, boating, walking and cycling.
