About The Greyhound

Traditional Hospitality at The Greyhound

Of all the pubs in Brentwood, The Greyhound is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Essex. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The inn was open for business during the First and Second World Wars, and is reputed to have been a haven for German prisoners of war. The soldiers, who were held half a mile away at the Costain compound, used to sneak to the inn where they enjoyed a few drinks before heading back to their camp.

Around The Area

The Greyhound pub and its huge gardens is a 'drive-out' destination to be enjoyed by the whole family. We are a real country pub in the traditional Essex weatherboard style, tucked away down a quiet lane.
