The Hawk is well known in Battlesbridge and across Wickford as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, we are a stone's throw from the River Crouch. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a great selection of real ales and a diverse wine menu for you to choose from.
A Little Pub History
The inn dates back to 1678 when it was described in the deeds as a "small rectangular building". Wickford is an ancient settlement that has existed since before 975. There is evidence that the area itself was inhabited in prehistoric, Roman and Saxon times. Wickford was referred to in the Domesday Book as both Wicfort and Wincfort.

Our standard opening times are below but we may open earlier on certain days depending on local demand so please do call us to check if you would like to visit us before midday.
Monday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm.
Sundays 12pm to 10.30pm.
Food served all day
Monday to Saturday all day to 10pm.
Sunday all day to 9.30pm.
No Need to Book
There is no need to book, all are welcome, just come along and we will look after you and ensure an enjoyable visit.
