A Little Pub History

Various inns have existed on the site of The Heron's Nest since 1816, the first being The Blue Boar. Our position alongside the Grand Union Canal has meant that the building has had dealings in the coal trade and was for a while a canalside Cafe. But beware as it is said that the building was once haunted by a Cavalier.

It's our local charm that attracts office staff and shoppers, as well as diners and drinkers from Solihull, also from nearby Dorridge, Balsall Common and Hampton in Ardern We also welcome business and leisure travellers to enjoy some of the best bedrooms and accommodation in Knowle.
