About The Jack Rabbit
Closed for refurbishment
The Jack Rabbit will be closed for a few days from 3pm on Sunday 19th of October while we spruce up its interiors. Don't worry, our doors will re-open from 8am on Friday 24th of October, when the place will be sparkling with even more rural charm and rustic character. The Jack Rabbit will be open for Breakfast 8am - 11am from 24th October. More on our makeover.
The Jack Rabbit in Plymouth is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
Book a table online and enjoy a spot by our roaring log-fire. Or make the best of the British summertime by eating alfresco in our pretty beer garden.
A little pub history
The Jack Rabbit sits on the old road from Plymouth to Tavistock , near to the towns of Derriford and Crownhill. The Fort at Crownhill is the best preserved of Lord Palmerston's Ring of Fire which surrounded Plymouth in Victorian times, protecting the Royal Dockyard at Devonport from French attack and bombardment.
Make a day of it
The Jack Rabbit is close to Dartmoor and next to the small local airport. This is a pub with rooms so it's a great base from which to explore Plymouth and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Adjacent to our pub restaurant is a Travelodge hotel.
