About The Lamb Inn
Traditional Hospitality at The Lamb Inn
Of all the pubs in Pevensey Marsh, The Lamb Inn is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Sussex and the Sea. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
The inn is mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1084 when it was most likely a shepherd's cottage built halfway between the shepherd's homes and the traditional grazing pastures. In 1520 the cottage became an Inn with a charter allowing shepherds to warm their sickly lambs by the fires.

Around The Area
Our history dates to Norman times, and we're a favourite stop for visitors to Pevensey Castle. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the pub was probably a shepherd's cottage - and today we have a 24-hour licence during lambing season.
