About The Oystercatcher

Traditional Hospitality at The Oystercatcher

Of all the pubs in Climping, The Oystercatcher is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Sussex and the Sea. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The Oystercatcher is built on the site of a private house that was previously occupied by a Middle Eastern family. They left abruptly at the start of the first Gulf War in 1992, and the building was left derelict for several years before the Oystercatcher came into being.

Around The Area

A destination in its own right, our award-winning inn can offer palatial gardens outside and a warm welcome inside, and we're only half a mile from the beach at Atherington.
