The Priory, a country pub in Bristol

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

Located in the heart of Portbury, The Priory has been the local village pub since 1822.  Over the years, we’ve uncovered secret underground passages, linking the Priory Hotel to Portbury Monastery, which suggests the pub may have been used by monks to hide from persecution. History aside, we’re here to provide you with the ultimate country pub experience.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Charming country pubs in lovely locations

Dating to 1822, The Priory is a landmark for travellers from Bristol, the M5 and beyond. A footpath from Prior's Wood passes the pub to The Mount and Windmill Hill. The bluebells in Prior's Wood are quite spectacular in bloom.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Priory.
