Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
Built in 1896, the pub was originally called The River Wyre Hotel, local reports at the time said that it attracted some very distinguished guests.King Edward VII was once seen drinking here with a group of gentlemen, and in the 1940's British stage and film acting couple Barry Barnes and Diana Churchill were regular visitors. It is thought that nearby Fleetwood was the first planned town of the Victorian era.

An imposing pub with great riverside walks, The River Wyre has counted smugglers, royalty and actors among its guests. The Skippool History Trail (1 mile) offers fine views of Skippool Creek and the Wyre estuary.
