About The Sandpiper
TEMPORARILY CLOSED
A fire caused by a gas engineer's error has unfortunately damaged the pub, but we are currently undertaking all necessary remedial works and hope to re-open again mid October.
Traditional Hospitality at The Sandpiper
Of all the pubs in Bickerstaffe, The Sandpiper is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Lancashire. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.
A Little Pub History
The Sandpiper was originally a farmhouse called Holly Farm. It has only recently been converted into the pub restaurant that you see today. The surrounding area is full of interesting history, the town of Bickerstaffe being an important local centre for the Quakers of West Lancashire.

Around The Area
The Sandpiper is a great rural getaway with a spacious beer garden in which you can relax and enjoy great food and the pick of British beers and wines from around the world.
