About The Star Inn

Traditional Hospitality at The Star Inn

Of all the pubs in Kingsclere, The Star Inn is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in Middlesex and the Thames Valley. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The pub was established between 1844 and 1847 in a building originally used as a farm. When it became a pub, the original landlord was a Mr Charles Elliot. Around Kingsclere there is terrific walking and miles of cycle tracks. You can also follow the Kingsclere Millennium Trail, which reveals the village's history and secrets on a scenic walk around the area.

Around The Area

Our regal looking inn with its own little green is a popular refreshment stop for walkers exploring the beautiful countryside and close to the famous Watership Down. Much of the village is a designated conservation area.
