About The Swan Inn

Traditional Hospitality at The Swan Inn

Of all the pubs in Horning, The Swan Inn is surely the best place to make the most of our weather (come rain or shine) - with a delicious meal, a thirst quenching drink and the cherished company of family and friends. Soak up the warmest of welcomes and explore some of the most popular pub food menus in East of England. Try one of our hugely satisfying seasonal dishes with a glass of fine wine or sample a rewarding pint of our regularly changing and highly quaffable cask-conditioned real ales.

A Little Pub History

The Swan Inn is a majestic building overlooking a sharp bend in the River Bure. The origins of The Swan were a cottage built on the site in 1696 but the main part of the building dates from the early 19th century. It's position on the Norfolk Broads has made it a distinctive landmark for river users and locals alike, it's most recent claim to fame being the setting for two of Arthur Ransom's (author of Swallows and Amazons) children's books 'Coot Club' and 'The Big Six'
