A little pub history
The Swan Inn is a majestic building overlooking a sharp bend in the River Bure. The origins of The Swan were a cottage built on the site in 1696 but the main part of the building dates from the early 19th century. It's position on the Norfolk Broads has made it a distinctive landmark for river users and locals alike, it's most recent claim to fame being the setting for two of Arthur Ransom's (author of Swallows and Amazons) children's books 'Coot Club' and 'The Big Six'
Charming local accommodation
Our eight bedroom Innkeeper's Lodge continues The Swan Inn's tradition of welcoming travellers. It's our local charm that attracts river users and ramblers, as well as diners and drinkers from Horning, Wroxham, Stalham and Coltishall. We also welcome business and leisure travellers to enjoy some of the best bedrooms and accommodation in Norfolk.
Make a day of it
Our majestic black and white timbered pub with rooms has great views of the Bure River and the boaters exploring the scenic Norfolk Broads. We're an award-winner with a reputation as one of the best pubs about.
