The Three Cups is well known in Stamford Bridge and across the East Riding of Yorkshire as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, we are nestled close to the River Derwent. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a great selection of real ales and a diverse wine menu for you to choose from.
A Little Pub History
Sitting in an area steeped in history, The Three Cups sits on a site said to have been a camp for soldiers waiting to take part in The Battle of Stamford Bridge. Inside our old building is an ancient draw well 23 feet deep, first discovered by the landlord Wilson Lee during building works in the 1960's. This well is still visible today through a porthole in the floor of the pub.

It's The Three Cups' location, character and history that attracts visitors from across the city of York, the East Riding of Yorkshire and neighbours from nearby villages like Full Sutton, Holtby and High Catton. We are an excellent venue for historians visiting York & Stamford Bridge looking for great food and drink served all day every day and a popular choice for your business meeting or lunch.

Our standard opening times are below but we may open earlier on certain days depending on local demand so please do call us to check if you would like to visit us before midday.
Monday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm.
Sundays 12pm to 10.30pm.
Food served all day
Monday to Saturday all day to 10pm.
Sunday all day to 9.30pm.
No Need to Book
There is no need to book, all are welcome, just come along and we will look after you and ensure an enjoyable visit.
