A Little Pub History
Once known as Little Walton and rising 150 feet above the surrounding area, Bamber Bridge has been the scene of many battles throughout history. Most famous of all, a great battle was fought in 1648 between the Duke of Hamilton and the Parliamentarians, led by Oliver Cromwell. The area, full of heritage provides the ideal location for our rustic, traditional pub.
Around The Area
Quaint and appealing, and overlooking the village pond, The Walton Fox offers a peaceful countryside retreat - yet with many historic battles fought nearby, it is a magnet for English Civil War buffs as well as ramblers.
