The Angel dates back to the 15th century and was originally a hall house with north and south wings which became an inn around 1702. On Jubilee Day in 1898, a letter reports that around sixty people sat down to dinner at seven o'clock to toast the Queen and sing the National Anthem.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Dating to the 15th century, our fascinating inn was originally a hall with north and south wings - you can see original columns supporting the roof. The pub history is on the wall opposite the bar.
