The Shy Horse, a country pub in Chessington
We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.
Originally named the Fox and Hounds, this pub restaurant used to be run by the Smith family during the late 19th Century. Although by 1894 it was only the father, William and his son, Arthur who were still running The Shy Horse. Today guests at The Shy Horse enjoy an easily accessible venue with its own gardens.
Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.
Charming country pubs in lovely locations
Dating to the mid 1800s our pub is popular with walkers on Epsom Common, visitors to Chessington World of Adventure, and it has a great beer garden. There's a map in the lobby showing numerous walks and trails.
