The Mermaid, a country pub in Wolverhampton

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

In 1780 the Mermaid Inn was one of 23 houses in the vicinity of old Wightwick Manor. The manor house was handed over to the National Trust in 1937, and the Mermaid benefited from a new influx of visitors who came to see the historic house. We still welcome them today.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Charming country pubs in lovely locations

The Mermaid Inn is nearly 250-years-old and is sandwiched between the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal and Wightwick Manor. You can walk along the canal towpath and we are an ideal stop for visitors to the manor.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Mermaid.
