The River Wyre is an authentic, modern country pub serving a delightful range of pub dishes and some truly great beers, wines, gins and real ales.

The fantastic chefs at The River Wyre have carefully crafted a selection of menus to suit every occasion at any time of the day. From brunch through to dinner, we have a dish for you with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available also.

Located in Poulton-Le-Fylde, The River Wyre is perfect if you’re looking to get away from the bigger cities. It’s located just 15 minutes from Blackpool via the B5266, and 30 minutes from Preston via the A585 and M55.

Built in 1896, the pub was originally called The River Wyre Hotel, local reports at the time said that it attracted some very distinguished guests.King Edward VII was once seen drinking here with a group of gentlemen, and in the 1940's British stage and film acting couple Barry Barnes and Diana Churchill were regular visitors. It is thought that nearby Fleetwood was the first planned town of the Victorian era.

Love the outdoors? Make sure to visit Wyre Estuary Country Park. Established in 1991 and covering 0.79 acres, it is situated on the western banks of the 28 mile long River Wyre and currently holds a green flag international mark of quality. The award winning park offers year-round activities and events for all the family, including ranger-led walks, environmentally friendly activities and annual events like the Family Sculpture Day.

St Chad’s Church has watched over Poulton Le Fylde town centre and the Market Square for over 900 years and was designated a Grade II* listed building back in September 1950. Take in the sights and history that Poulton-Le-Fylde has to offer, then head to The River Wyre for a pint or delicious dish.
