The Balloch House was built in the early 18th Century, when it was the place where ferries ran from across the River Leven. It became a hotel in the early 19th century since when The Balloch has had a number of famous visitors including; Hans Christian Anderson in 1847 and the Empress Eugenie, wife of Louis-Napolean Bonaparte's nephew in 1860.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

With tremendous views of Loch Lomond, Balloch House has hosted royalty and celebrities, and dates to the 1700s when it was used to run ferries across the River Leven. Balloch comes from the Gaelic 'bealach' meaning mountain pass.
There’s always a great reason to visit The Balloch House in Loch Lomond. Throughout the week we run Fixed Price Lunch and Dinner menus, and at the weekend you can enjoy special prices on sparkling wine on Fizz Friday or a delicious 3-course Steak Supper on Saturday. For a limited time only, we’re also running a Pizza & Peroni night on a Thursday - the perfect midweek treat!
