Welcome to The Hawes Inn in South Queensferry

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

The Hawes Inn has strong connections with the celebrated author Robert Louis Stevenson, who was born in Edinburgh on the 13th November 1850. It is said that he stayed in the Inn and actually wrote part of the famous novel 'Kidnapped' in one of the rooms. Indeed the Kidnapped actually includes a passage about the Hawes Inn.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, including our steak & mushroom pie and beer-battered fish and chips, as well as seasonal surprises if you’re after something a little different.

Did you know we also have 14 beautiful bedrooms? Situated just 10 miles outside Edinburgh city centre, this historic property is perfectly equipped to meet your needs, whatever the occasion. After a busy day, indulge in a hearty meal in our restaurant before sinking into our comfy Hypnos beds, for pure relaxation.

We look forward to welcoming you!
