The Barge Inn is an authentic, modern country pub serving a delightful range of pub dishes and some truly great beers, wines, gins and real ales.

The fantastic chefs at The Barge have carefully crafted a selection of menus to suit every occasion at any time of the day. From brunch through to dinner, we have a dish for you with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available also.

Located in Woolstone, The Barge Inn is perfect if you’re looking to get away from the bigger cities. It’s located just 6 minutes from Milton Keynes via H6 Childs Way, and 30 minutes from Bedford via the A422.

Built in the early 19th century to slake the thirsts of the men that built The Grand Union Canal, The Barge has been a favourite amongst narrow boaters for many years. 

There are plenty of exciting things to visit in Woolstone, before or after your visit to The Barge Inn.

Love the outdoors? Make sure to visit the Ouzel Valley Park, an excellent spot for cycling and walking. This park is overflowing with history and wildlife, dotted with ancient trees, meadows and the remains of medieval villages and their associated fish ponds.

Why not also visit Uffington Castle, White Horse and Dragon Hill? These three prehistoric sites lie beside the Ridgeway, the ancient route that ran from Dorset to the Wash. The internationally-renowned Bronze-Age Uffington White Horse can be seen for miles away leaping across the head of a dramatic dry valley in the Ridgeway escarpment.
