The Friars Oak is an authentic, modern country pub serving a delightful range of pub dishes and some truly great beers, wines, gins and real ales.

The fantastic chefs at The Friar's Oak have carefully crafted a selection of menus to suit every occasion at any time of the day. From brunch through to dinner, we have a dish for you with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available also.

HOW TO FIND US

Nestled between the towns of Keymer and Clayton, Hassocks is a charming village. It's perfect if you’re looking to get away from the bigger cities. It’s 25 minutes from Brighton via the A23 and A273 and 30 minutes from Worthing via A27.

The Friars Oak opened to serve construction workers who were building Hassocks railway station. Had it not been for the railway, Hassocks may not have even existed! The railway is just 15 minutes from The Friars Oak which connects it with Brighton, East Croydon and Haywards Heath.

KEEPING BUSY IN HASSOCKS

There are plenty of exciting things to visit in Hassocks, before or after your visit to The Friars Oak.

Hassocks is believed to have derived from tufts of grass found in surrounding fields. Take the little ones to Washbrooks Family Farm or head to Ditchling Museum of Arts & Crafts for a day of creating.
