ABOUT The Mint

Despite being a 16th-century building, The Mint pub itself isn’t nearly as old. In fact, the first mention of it is in the 1871 census when Edward Bennett is described as a beer retailer — his family subsequently stayed there for 60 years! The Mint was at the heart of the mint growing district in the south of Banstead until it became a beer house in 1871 and was purchased by Page & Overton’s Croydon brewery at auction in 1899.

Our beautiful surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu and the hand-picked cask ales or fine wines served at our bar.

The fantastic chefs at The Mint have carefully crafted a selection of menus to suit every occasion at any time of the day. From brunch through to dinner, we have a dish for you with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available also.
