ABOUT The Curlew

The Curlew has had a long, varied and interesting history. Originally constructed back in the 1800s, it served as a farm mostly producing root vegetables. After gaining its license, the building became Mulligan's fish restaurant, a themed pub and was more recently called The Manor before settling on being named after the wading bird - the Curlew

Our beautiful surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu and the hand-picked cask ales or fine wines served at our bar.

The fantastic chefs at The Curlew have carefully crafted a selection of menus to suit every occasion at any time of the day. From brunch through to dinner, we have a dish for you with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available also.

You can find The Curlew just outside the town of Longham, in Parley Cross just off Christchurch Road. We’re a great spot to meet after a long day of travelling, owing to the fact we’re just 4 minutes via B3073 and Parley Ln/B3073 from Bournemouth International Airport.

Bournemouth is just 17 minutes away by car. We’re also less than an hour’s drive away from a number of stunning areas of natural beauty and national parks.

There’s plenty do both in and around Bournemouth which is certain to help you work up an appetite.

Take the little ones to Adventure Wonderland for a fun-packed day. The park offers rides and attractions which is perfect for families and children up to the age of 12. The best bit? Adventure Wonderland is just a 4-minute drive from The Curlew so at least Mum and Dad can treat one another to their favourite refreshments and food after a busy day with the little ones.

Just opposite Adventure Wonderland is another great attraction, Bournemouth Aviation Museum! Home to several famous aircraft, aero engines, cockpits and even a double-decker bus! It’s a definite must-see for any aeroplane enthusiast.

Fancy yourself as a bit of a driving talent? Then you absolutely have to check out South Coast Karting, which is just a mile away from The Curlew. Race your friends and then brag about your achievements  with a celebratory pint at The Curlew! What could be better!
